1973-1975 Pre-School, Kluang Kindergarten, Kluang, Johor, Malaysia

Went to Mom's kindergarten when I was 4 years old. I spent some three years playing and having lots of fun there. I started to count, to add, to subtract, to write, etc.

1975-1980 Elementary School, Sekolah Kebangsaan (C) Ping Ming, Kluang, Johor, Malaysia

I was sent to a school bigger then Mom's place when I was 7. It is an interesting place call Sekolah Kebangsaan (c) Ping Ming. There I found much more than ABC... I knew what is wind. I knew hot air goes up and cold air comes down and etc etc etc...

1981-1986 High School, Chong Hwa High School, Kluang, Johor, Malaysia,

I went to the only chinese independent school, ©~Æq¤¤µØ¤¤¾Ç , in the town where I was born six years later. I was 12 then. I then noticed that I do not like something- examinations! There, I had my first encounter with mathematics and natural sciences like physics, chemistry, biology, etc. I love them! My parents, especially my Mom, told me stories of great figures like Mozart, Chopin, Edison, C.N. Yang, et. al. I was ambitious. I wanted to do science! I wanted to be a scientist! I loved mathematics. I liked physics. I wanted to have them both. I thought doing theoretical physics would have them both. I decided to take up physics as my major when I applied for universities.

1987-1991 Bachelor (hons) of Science in Physics, National University of Singapore

This is the first time I leave my home town for long long time after 19 years! This is one of the mile stones in my life! I lived in Eusoff College and Eusoff Hall throughout my undergraduate years.I took classes in Physics and Mathematics. I enjoyed them very much, of course, not the examinations. Over the years in NUS, I was learning the ways of uncovering and explaining the structures of the nature. At the end of my third academic year in NUS, I was fortunately got a student research assistantship to work in the Van de Graaff laboratory. Under the guidance of Professor Tang Seung Mun. I learned the technique of Proton Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) analysis. I went back to school for my fourth year after working in the laboratory for about 3 months. Under the supervision of Professor Oh Choo Hiap, I worked on a problem in field theory to find solutions of Yang Mill's equation with Chern Simons mass term and external sources. There are more to come... Till I have some moment to continue.

1991-1993 Master of Science in Physics, National University of Singapore

Supervisors : Professor Tang Seung Mun and Dr Ivica Orlic

1993-2000 Ph. D., University of California, Los Angeles

Thesis Advisor : Professor Joseph Rudnick
